Dive into Adventure with Our Sunday Open Water Swims

Join us for our Sunday Open Water Swims, designed for swimmers of all levels!

Whether you're training for a race or simply want to enjoy the invigorating experience of swimming in open water, we offer a safe and welcoming environment. Our course features 100, 300, and 600-meter long-course options, ensuring you can challenge yourself at your own pace.

There is a shallow end for participants to get acclimated. The buoy lined courses are all in deep water and are Red Cross certified lifeguard supported. Check in at the Sylvan Shores Clubhouse to start your journey.

    Our Red Cross safety support allows you to swim with confidence. A safety/visiblity buoy is required for all participants,. They can be purchased on site.

Discover Your Flow in the Water

We swim on Sunday mornings from the boat ramp near the Sylvan Shores Clubhouse. Directions can be found below.

  1. Check in at the clubhouse from 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM.

  2. The swim course is open from 9:30 AM to 11 AM.

Wetsuits & Swim Buoys

Swim/Visibility buoys are required, and wetsuits are optional. Swim buoys are available for purchase online and onsite, and wetsuits are available for rent.

    Cost: Advance registration is$35 per swim or $120 for (4) swims. Same day registration is $40.

Location

Check-in is @ Sylvan Shores Clubhouse at 100 Orchard Road, Riva MD 21140. The clubhouse provides bathroom access, but personal belongings should travel with participants to the beach or be secured in vehicles. Get Directions

Parking

Limited parking is available at the clubhouse and the overflow ballfield lot. Please refrain from parking on the street as the community does not allow it. If the clubhouse lot is full, park at 109 Meadow Road, Riva MD 21140. From the ballfield, walk back to the clubhouse for check-in. Carpooling is encouraged!

Weather Policy

Swim sessions will be canceled in cases of heavy rain or storms within 24 hours of scheduled swim. Registered participants will receive a cancellation email, and updates will post to the Crossing Currents Aquatics Facebook page. Please note that swims are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled during that year’s season.
